Anne Neukamp, recipient of a 2015 Pollock-Krasner Grant, worked with the Keystone printers to create a series of three, 3-run images which combine diverse visual elements with various printmaking techniques. The possibility to work with photocopy transfer on stone was ideal for Neukamp to incorporate her signature visual language into the works.

Detailed, dynamic surfaces, beautifully rendered by the qualities of classical stone lithography contrast with solid areas of digitally-printed colour; these complement each other without either being accorded preference. Significant motifs pervade the layers of each image: a stylised hand, a brushstroke hashtag symbol, a 3-D puzzle piece. The inclusion of abstract imagery creates a complex and multi-layered structure which directly challenges the viewer’s perception of traditional fore, middle and background image composition.
