Dieter Detzner

born: 1970 in Germany; lives and works in Berlin

Detzner's lithographs were inspired by his soot drawings on mirrors. He created the images for these prints by swinging a foam-tipped pendulum over a stone covered with dry photocopy toner. To achieve an absolutely flawless, matte, deepest "black hole" black, each print was first printed in black ink, then dusted with photocopy toner.
